Privacy Policy

This policy explains how PestFriend handles information when you use the PestFriend DIY pest-control app and website.

Effective date: May 3, 2026

Short version

PestFriend does not require a user account to browse the pest library. Pest library content is bundled in the app. Features such as chat, subscriptions, product links, partner referrals, support, and abuse-prevention systems may process limited data needed to operate the app.

Information PestFriend may process

  • Chat message text and session IDs for pest guidance, chat continuity, reliability, abuse investigation, and debugging.
  • Request metadata such as IP address, user agent, referer, timestamp, and request ID for reliability, rate limiting, debugging, and abuse prevention.
  • User-entered county and state when checking local partner referral availability. PestFriend does not need precise GPS for this flow.
  • Product-link and partner-referral events such as clicked product or partner, pest context, placement, timestamp, IP address, user agent, referer, and request ID.
  • Purchase and subscription state handled through Apple App Store, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat where subscription features are available.

Third-party processing

Where available, PestFriend chat may use backend services and Anthropic-powered AI processing. Purchases and subscription entitlement checks may use Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. External product and partner links may route through PestFriend for reporting and abuse-prevention metadata.

Information PestFriend does not need for normal use

  • No PestFriend user account is required to browse bundled pest content.
  • PestFriend does not need your precise GPS location for the county/state partner lookup flow.
  • PestFriend does not ask you to submit sensitive medical information.

Data retention and deletion

PestFriend keeps operational data only as long as reasonably necessary for app functionality, reliability, debugging, abuse prevention, support, reporting, legal compliance, and product improvement. To request help with privacy or deletion questions, email [email protected].

Children’s privacy

PestFriend is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as PestFriend changes. The current version will be posted on this page with its effective date.
